Lab techniques to characterize composite networks

Instrumentation to characterize composite material network-matrix preform properties which effect their behavior during heated consolidation is available. Miniature automated devices provide input data for process simulation models which account for thermodynamic, phase change, convective, and micro-mechanical consolidation mechanisms. Time-based spatial bond strength mappings may be generated in diverse manufacturing situations by using ABES-derived data driven by predicted thermal data. Material properties and the dependent variables measurable with the instrumentation are shown below, along with its functional concept.

Specialized test methods and process simulation strategies for diverse composite material and engineering component synthesis can be undertaken on a contract-basis.
